Pharmaceutical production protects two things at once: the product from the operator, and the operator from the product. Gloves do both jobs, which is why they are specified carefully and changed often.
Why powder-free and latex-free matter
- Powder-free – glove powder is a contaminant. It sheds into the air and onto surfaces, and it cannot be allowed near open product.
- Latex-free – natural rubber latex proteins can cause allergic reactions in staff and, through contact, in patients. Nitrile avoids the problem.
Why a cleanroom-grade glove
An ordinary examination glove is clean enough for a clinic, but it is not processed or packed for a controlled environment. A cleanroom glove is washed to reduce particles and residues and is packed so it can be brought into the gowning area without carrying contamination with it.
Where our gloves fit
BestSky cleanroom nitrile gloves are suited to controlled, non-sterile production and support areas: weighing and dispensing, compounding, equipment preparation, packaging and quality control. The 12 inch length covers the garment sleeve, and the beaded cuff keeps the glove in place.
Our gloves are not supplied sterile and are not a medical device. Aseptic filling and other sterile areas require gloves that are supplied sterile and validated for that use.
Good practice
- Change gloves when they are damaged, after touching a non-clean surface, and at the intervals your procedure sets.
- Disinfect gloved hands as your site procedure requires.
- Keep the lot number from the carton with your batch records.
Not sure which glove fits your process? Tell us your cleanroom class and we will recommend one, or see the full specification on the Products page.
